The campus

Qingdao university is only two decades old. The campus is new and clean. The main campus's situation is between the Fushan mountain and the sea, near the city center. The foreign students are mostly Koreans and Japaneses, but there are also Russians, Europeans, Americans... Besides Chinese, you will have the opportunity to practice a lot of foreign languages.

Regular Courses

  • A year from September to mid-July.
  • A semester from September to mid-January or from March to mid-July. The exact dates are depending on the Chinese new year, which is set on the lunar calendar.

Fees

  • The application fee is 400￥.
  • The tuition fee for a year is 14000￥.
  • You have to add about 200￥ for the textbooks.
  • Single room accomodation 1600￥/month.
  • Meals 1500￥/month.

Total for a year (indication): 45600￥

The payment of the tuition fee is done the week preceding the start of the courses. At that time you'll also buy the books and will pass a chinese proficiency test that will define the level of the courses you'll attend.

Summer Courses

  • 4 weeks, between July and August

Fees

  • The application fee is 100￥.
  • The tuition fee for a year is 2400￥.
  • You have to add about 100￥ for the textbooks.
  • Single room accomodation 1600￥/month.
  • Meals 1500￥/month.

Accommodations

Qingdao University dormitory"

There are three student dormitories, two of them brand new. In each room you find a small bathroom, a heater, air conditioning and a television. The new dormitories are more expensive, so if you really need the cheap one, make a reservation early.

You'll also find a common kitchen, an internet cafe and the university canteen.

Price

If you stay the whole year, the price is more or less 50￥ every day for a single room, 30￥ if you share the room with another student.

If you stay less than 3 months, there is a fixed price of 70￥ (single) or 50￥ (double) a day. If you stay less than one month it's 100￥ a day.

The prices may change without notice, and are slightly more expensive for shorter periods of time. Please check with the university to find out the final price.

Meals

Qingdao University restaurant

It's about 25￥ by day if you eat at the university's restaurants.
